          General information

          For those with autism, as well as being, in most cases, a new experience, taking a plane can involve many difficulties.

          Venice Airport adheres to the project "Autism, making my way through the Airport", conceived by ENAC with the collaboration of sector associations and the Airport's managing company. Its aim is to facilitate transit in the Airport as far as possible by providing assistance services. But it also aims - through some simple recommendations and easy strategies for the accompanying persons - to help all autistic travellers to prepare for, and happily accept, every stage of their journey.

          Departures and Arrivals Assistance Service

          The Airport is prepared to welcome people with autism, recognizing them as PRMs (passengers with reduced mobility) and relating them to the DPNA category (passenger with intellectual or behavioural impairments), with specialized facilities, services and staff dedicated to them.

          If you do not want to request the PRM service, the Airport provides the possibility for autistic people to use the Priority Lane during security checks.

          A chance to familiarize yourself with Venice Airport

          To meet the needs of people with autism, we have created materials that can be viewed by autistic passengers so they can become more familiar with the Airport's various areas and processes.

          Venice Airport also offers focused pre-visits to the airport itself for autistic people and their escorts scheduled to fly from Venice Airport. This service has been created to provide them with extra help in getting to know the facilities and services available.

          To book the "familiarization visit" and to be contacted by the Venice Airport personnel, it is sufficient to:

          • download the booking form by clicking HERE;
          • print, complete and sign the reservation form, attaching the documentation indicated in the same;
          • send the form and documentation in .pdf or .jpg file to the email address indicated on the form.

          Requests for a "familiarization visit" must be sent at least 3 days before the desired date of visit. The visit will be confirmed with email communication and organized from Monday to Friday between 9AM and 7PM at hours defined depending on the Airport's operational needs.

          N.B.: autistic passenger won't be separated from the family or escort and will always followed by our staff.
